Anderson New Technology High School is a charter school in the Anderson Union High School District, located in Shasta County.

ANTHS opened August 26, 2002 in a semi-autonomous wing of Anderson High School with an enrollment of 74 11th graders. Five teachers, a principal, a secretary, and a half-time counselor made up the first-year school staff. In January 2004, ANTHS made the move to a newly remodeled building, purchased to house the school separately.

In school year 2003-2004, ANTHS opened its doors to students in the 9th-12th grades. The teaching staff increased to nine, an Internship Coordinator position was added, and a Grant Development Consultant hired. The school is preparing to move into a newly remodeled building housing the ANTHS campus at the end of 2003. ANTHS is a candidate for Accreditation, approved by the Schools Commission of WASC.

Like Napa’s NTHS, Anderson has targeted average students and is building a culture of trust and responsibility. It has designed a college prep curriculum with integrated, team-taught courses meeting state standards. In addition to complying with district graduation requirements, students must complete a Digital Media Design class, an electronic portfolio, a one-semester internship and 12 units of college courses.

The Anderson school district has formed a partnership with Shasta College to offer college courses at the school. In addition, ANTHS has received support from the McConnell foundation and the California Department of Education, which honored it with a $1.2 million grant from the High-Tech High School Grant Program.
