Science Math And Related Technologies (SMART) is one of four LAUSD schools which together form the first Network public schools in Southern California. SMART opened for grades 9-11 in the fall of 2006 with a total of 209 students.

Arleta's partner, UNITE-LA, manages and coordinates seven campaigns that offer school communities in LAUSD with opportunities to participate in activities that create a vital link between classroom learning and "real world" living.
