Student Empowerment Academy at Jefferson High School t opened with 200 students with grades 9-10 as a single track school in September 2006 in an autonomous space on the Jefferson High School campus. Jefferon High partners with Unite LA.

The school is committed to preparing all students to excel in their educational endeavors and their career of choice. Within the New Technology High School students will have an opportunity to explore educational and career paths in environmental studies, health and law. The vision of the New Tech High School for Student Empowerment Academy is the development of competent and committed individuals who will be ready to learn, lead, and participate in a democratic society and the flexibility to succeed in the 21 st century workplace.
