Anson County Schools opened Anson New Technology High school in August 2007. The school is located on the traditional high school campus as a completely autonomous site, in the city of Wadesboro NC.

ANTHS was designed for a capacity of 350 students in 9th-12th grades recruited from the local middle school. The facilities are designed so that team teaching can take place, as well as, project-based learning. The instructional method applied is that of project-based learning where teachers only use the textbook as a reference. There is a one to one student to computer ratio that allows for student-centered, project-based learning to occur.

There are currently sixty freshman, one administrator, one guidance couselor, one clerical, and four teachers on staff. The teaching staff will grow as the number of students grows.

ANTHS will flourish in a culture of trust, respect, and responsiblity, while providing a college prep curriculum with integrated, team taught courses meeting state standards. In addition to complying with the district graduation requirements, students must complete:
*Powerskills Course (including introduction to digital portfolio design, office productivity software, Lotus Notes, Learning System tools, and keyboarding)
*Community service and senior year internship
*South Piedmont Community College courses (12 transferable college credits)
*A web based, professional digital portfolio (outcomes-based)

South Piedmont Community College actively supported the development of ANTHS from curriculum development to implementation. ANTHS also developed numerous other partnerships with local and regional businesses and community organizations to open and sustain the school.
