Award-winning Public Service Announcement Honoring Martin Luther King, Jr. is Now Online
This past October, the Liberation Curriculum department of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Research and Education Institute at Stanford University partnered with All Stars Helping Kids (all-star athlete- founded service organization) in sponsoring a competition for San Francisco Bay Area high school students that will graduate in 2008 and 2009. Students were invited to develop and submit a script for a public service announcement regarding Martin Luther King, Jr.'s mission and message of of peace through social justice.
Napa New Tech's Alyssa Martinez and Stephanie Hernandez, who worked as a team, were announced as the winners and have since completed their PSA which is now available for viewing on Yahoo! A documentary tracking the PSA process was created by the producers that assisted the team.
